Comicpalooza in Houston

Comicpalooza, the largest annual, multi-genre, comic book, science fiction, anime, gaming, and pop-culture convention in the Southern United States is coming back to Houston! Calling all San Antonians to don your cosplay thinking caps and mark your calendars!!! Comicpalooza will be held from July 15-17 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston!

Comicpalooza in Houston – What to expect

Comicpalooza weekend starts with their Friday Night Launch. The celebrations will get underway in grand style with their CP Friday Night Bash a neon-themed party, wrestling matches from Texas All-Start Wresting, Mario Kart 64 tournaments, and Ultimate Werewolf.

On Saturday and Sunday fans can expect programming panels and workshops covering a variety of fandoms and pop-culture topics; local and national exhibitors showcasing their handmade goods and collectibles; new and returning special attractions, and panels featuring this year’s guests. With so much going on, fans will never run out of things to do over the course of the weekend!

Comicpalooza in Houston – Tracks

Comicpalooza’s tracks follow popular themes with curated programming that includes panels and workshops. Beyond programming, each track is also represented through the exhibition floor, special attractions, and guests! 

Anime 

Anime fans can enjoy various panels with a variety of topics such as Dragon Ball Z, Pokémon, My Hero Academia, and special attractions like  Dragon Ball Z Statues of Vegeta and Saiyan Pod and the anime car show, the Itasha Showdown. On the exhibition floor, vendors will offer anime-inspired fan art, collectibles, and unique handmade goods. This year’s anime guests include Demon Slayer’s Zack Aguilar, and My Hero Academia voice actors Justin Cook, David Matranga, Emily Neves, Trina Nishimura, and Chris Wehkamp.

Comics

Comic fans will have a diverse selection of vendors offering rare and new comic books and unique artwork on the exhibition floor. Programming panels centering on comics include topics such as the impact of Black superheroes, X-Men, Moon Knight, indie comics creation and publishing. This year comic book artists and creators Hailey Brown, Jock, Rags Morales, and Stephanie Phillips will make their way to the pop-culture festival.

Cosplay

Embedded in Comicpalooza’s culture, cosplay is an integral part of all the fun the convention entails. Cosplayers can take notes and ask questions in various panels and workshops including how to plan your cosplay, storytelling through cosplay, 3D printing for cosplay, and more. Craftsman looking to show off their creations will have the opportunity to take the stage in their annual Comicpalooza Cosplay Contest.

Electronic Gaming

Gamers can sign up for intense tournaments featuring old classics like Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros., Pokémon Stadium 2, Halo: Combat Evolved, and more. On the show, floor fanatics will be able …….
